Welcome to the Agoura Hills Troop 127 Website!

Boy Scout Troop 127 is chartered to Las Virgenes Scouting Alumni Association. The Troop meets most Monday nights from 7:00 pm until around 8:30 pm at Agoura Bible Fellowship located at 5564 Foothill Drive in Agoura Hills.

Troop 127’s active calendar features up to 25 overnight outings each year. The Troop attends two residential Boy Scout Camps each summer, one of which is Emerald Bay in beautiful Catalina. The Troop also has an active high adventure component, attending one of the country’s three high adventure bases each year on a rotating basis. The Troop’s high adventure program also features backpacking, snow sports, 50-mile canoe trips on the Colorado River, mountain biking, climbing, and shooting sports outings with certified, trained leaders as members of the Troop.

Scoutmaster Geoffrey Gunn has lead the Troop since 1995; he has been a Scout in Pack and Troop 127 since 1959.

The Troop program is diverse and the Scouts themselves decide on locations and activities. From snow camping to beach camping, the calendar has something for everyone. Annual national park trips to Yosemite, Sequoia, Death Valley, or Joshua Tree are also part of the annual outing plan. A Tenderfoot Overnighter helps new scouts start off right each May.

The Troop embraces the Patrol method, where Scouts in groups of 8-10 cook their own meals, organize themselves, and coordinate their activities in conjunction with Troop activities. Scouts in our Troop have the opportunity to develop leadership skills through the Troop’s boy-led activities. Scouts in leadership roles meet monthly to plan and carry out the yearly Troop calendar. Once planned, the whole Troop participates in organizing the event and making it a success.

The Troop prides itself on developing Scouts who are highly adept at Scout Skills, such as knot tying, orienteering, and first aid. Each Scout’s trail to Eagle Scout is more about the journey than the destination. Scouts in Troop 127 grow memories that last a lifetime, as the program helps youth develop into responsible, independent young men.

READ: Scoutbook (SB) application for rank advancement, outing attendance and easier/more specific communication about Patrols

Posted by hbsiegel on Jul 16 2019 - 7:02pm

Dear Parents and Adults of Scouts in Troop 127,

As a Troop, we are transitioning to Scoutbook (SB) application for rank advancement, outing attendance and easier/more specific communication about Patrols. It is required that each Scout has a least 1 parent/guardian/adult fully connected to SB email and text messaging. If a second parent/guardian/adult would like to be added they are welcome as well - this is optional.

HERE'S WHAT TO DO:

 Step 1-  login to SB
To log into SB, adults should go here on their desktop or mobile device: https://www.scoutbook.com/mobile/

Adult username is the email address they used to register their Scout in SB.

If you forgot your password go here to learn how to reset password: https://help.scoutbook.com/knowledge-base/how-do-i-reset-my-password/

If you have never logged into SB (second parent),  email Stephen Clark at sclark10@gmail.com with your full name and email address.  He will send you an invitation to join SB.  Look for this invitation in your spam folder. Once logged in continue with these steps.

Step 2- verify and connect to text messaging

Login to SB > dashboard > my account > edit profile >enter mobile phone xxx-xxx-xxxx > enter mobile carrier > send verification > enter code save/update.  You will now be able to get push text message from SB.

This text messaging is not like a group chat so you will not be bombed with lot's of text messages.  It will be used for reminders, deadlines and quick communications specific to your Scout and their Patrol.

Step 3-
Part 1 Log in to SB > dashboard > my family > select you Scout > edit profile > check all data for accuracy  > change scout's local council to WLACC and district to Las Collinas > save/update

Part 2  click on your Scout's image placeholder and upload/save Scout's profile picture. Zoom in so we can see his face : )
